Being a truck driver has its ups and downs. Your 'office' has some of the best views in the world. That is, after you've already suffered the miles of endless asphalt with the occasional cow pasture. But you get to meet all kinds of different people from across the country and pick up some cool yet questionable souvenirs from the infamous trucker stops along the way. It's just you on the road; you can spend your whole day talking to friends on the phone or listening to podcasts, and no one is there to stop you. But you also have to deal with a never-ending battle against time…and traffic. When you're driving all day long, you're bound to hit rush hour, and you can't just easily maneuver in and out of lanes or take backroads in your truck. Not gonna happen. You just have to endure it and hope your friend can talk a little longer on the phone. But one of the biggest perks? The pay. You can skip out on the whole four years of college thing and thousands of dollars in student loans and still come out making six figures.
